The Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University unveils the cover for the graphic novel Black Lives Always Mattered!: Hidden African American Philadelphia of the Twentieth Century (BLAM!)

The program includes a discussion of plans for the graphic novel, led by Blockson Collection curator Dr. Diane D. Turner and project consultant Dr. Carol D. Lee, and an opportunity to hear from a few of the project’s key contributors.

BLAM!, curated by visual artist Eric Battle, illustrates African American history in Philadelphia through the stories of 14 historical figures, including W.E.B. Du Bois, Cecil B. Moore, and Marian Anderson.
