In conjunction with the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection at Temple University’s exhibition and forthcoming graphic novel, Black Lives Always Mattered!: Hidden African-American Philadelphia in the 20th Century, watch a discussion of the creative processes behind the book featuring art director and illustrator Eric Battle and illustrators Micheline Hess, Jamar Nicholas, Dwayne Turner, and Christine Kerrick.
BLAM! illustrates African American history in Philadelphia through the stories of 14 historical figures, including W.E.B. Du Bois, Cecil B. Moore, and Marian Anderson.
The program is free to attend but registration is encouraged.
