AUX Performance Space Presents The Fantasies Given To Us May Never Be Fixed
7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
AUX Curatorial Fellow Jamillah James presents a screening of The Fantasies Given to Us May Never Be Fixed, a recent video that forces the performance of masculinity into crisis, often from the margins. The screening will be followed by a performance from Philadelphia-based artists Kris Harzinski and Will Haughery, whose collaborative practice embraces a vocabulary of hypermasculinity as a manner of critique. This event will also feature a short discussion and talk-back with Harzinski and Haughery after the performance.
Jamillah James is a New York-based curator who succeeds Marissa Perel, AUX's fall 2013 Curatorial Fellow. Over the course of two weekends in May, and two in June, James will present a series of performances and events, in conjunction with her fellowship.
The AUX Curatorial Fellowships have been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
