AUX Performance Space Presents An Evening with Martha Wilson and Amy Sadao

For the third event in the seven-part series organized by AUX's fifth Curatorial Fellow, Katya Grokhovsky, AUX presents "Transformations, Invasions and Pushing Boundaries," a lecture by performance artist Martha Wilson. Wilson will chronicle the interwoven stages of her creative contributions within the context of early feminist and socially engaged studio practice, as well as her dissemination of the work of like-minded individuals through the auspices of Franklin Furnace. Central to the discussion is her presence as an agent of transformative change, initially in her artwork and then in her facilitation of cultural change through her directorial presence at Franklin Furnace. Amy Sadao (Daniel W. Dietrich, II Director, Institute of Contemporary Art) will lead a discussion with Wilson.

Katya Grokhovsky is a New York-based artist, curator, and organizer, invested in the exploration of multidisciplinary and multimedia practices that cross generations, genders, and geography. She holds an MFA in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a BFA from Victorian College of the Arts (Australia), and a BA in Fashion from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia).
