Ars Nova's New Paths Festival Presents Peter Brötzmann at the German Society of Pennsylvania

30 May 2014
8 p.m. - 10 p.m.
German Society of Pennsylvania, 611 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia

Peter Brötzmann has been at the forefront of developing a unique, European take on free improvisation since the 1960s. Brötzmann will perform at the German Society of Pennsylvania's Joseph P. Horner Memorial Library, built in 1888 with the largest private collection of German books in the United States. This rare solo performance from Brötzmann will provide a unique dialogue with this collection.

This event is part of Ars Nova Workshop's Center-funded New Paths Festival, a citywide festival conceptually connecting some of the most innovative artists in the world to a variety of historic and peculiar Philadelphia spaces. While the work of these artists is inherently adventurous, the festival aims to deepen artists' engagement with their performance space as well as with the city's history, cultures, and people, making these events uniquely Philadelphian.
