Members of the critically acclaimed Argento Chamber Ensemble will perform a short "preview" set of varied music, including the recently commissioned spectral works by Philippe Hurel and Tristan Murail that will be performed later this summer at the Rodin Museum Concerts. These commissions were inspired by the masterworks of sculptor Auguste Rodin, and will be part of a new series of contemporary classical programs in the newly-renovated Rodin Museum.
In this "preview" performance, composer, violinist, and conductor David Fulmer will present a recital with works by W. A. Mozart, Matthias Pintscher, a recent work of his own (Philadelphia Premiere), and a premiere by John Zorn written especially for Fulmer. The florid program will explore traditional and more radical approaches to form and structure, creating a program filled with diversity of aesthetic.
