Apollo at Play by Tempesta di Mare

8 Mar 2014
8 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Kimmel Center, 300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia

Apollo at Play will feature Philadelphia's baroque orchestra playing French orchestral music written for the theater: Lully's music for Moliere's play Le Bourgeois gentilhomme ("The Would-Be Noble"), Locke's music for Shakespeare's The Tempest and Igor Stravinsky's luscious neo-baroque ballet for strings, Apollon Musagète. Tempesta di Mare's performance will be led by directors Gwyn Roberts and Richard Stone and concertmaster Emlyn Ngai.
