The Crossing’s choral-theater work Aniara: fragments of time and space plays at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, Finland. Based on the novel by Nobel Prize-winner Harry Martinson and composed by Pew Fellow Robert Maggio, the piece explores our relationship to one another, to Earth, and to the passage of time. Introductory discussions in Finnish and English take place before the performances.
Past performances of Aniara: fragments of time and space include The Crossing’s European debut in July 2019 and the world premiere at Christ Church Neighborhood in Philadelphia in June 2019.
